Lots of news around here!
Dunja visited Yankee's new pups and took lots of pictures. Some of them are on her webpage:
Yankee and Gogo's pups at 5 weeks old
There are also new photos of Yankee's pup in Finland, Bennet, on his owner's webpage. He's built so much like Tighe!
I managed to get a rather nice picture of Rogie, to add to his webpage:
Rogie's CWA application has been approved and he's now registered with them. I was expecting it to take much longer than it did; I guess I'd better get off my butt and register him with NAWRA too!
Wayde took Dayton to race in Portland when he went to pick up our new boxes. He ended up injuring his whip muscle and didn't finish as highly as one would expect of him. On the bright side, it's not as bad as when he pulled it in Ohio so, with luck, he should be as good as new in no time.

Per some discussion on Racing-L, here is a photo of the sandpit in Venlo:
And the sandpit in Awans. I've put a red line just above the lure, in flight towards the pit:

I just got photos of Yankee and Gogo's puppies! They are a little "yellow" because of the lighting in the whelping box but here the little darlings are:
The lone male is on the lower left; the rest are females. From these pictures, my favourites are the male and the solid blue bitch (upper right). Dunja thinks she will see them in person next week; more photos will be forthcoming from that visit!
I wish I knew someone looking for a puppy...it looks like the black bitch (upper left) and the Irish-marked blue bitch (lower right) will be "North American" in size. It would be great to see them racing over here.
And I can't post pictures of puppies without sharing a link to the latest Ofoto shots of Rogie. Nothing spectacular or anything; they're just candids taken out in the garden...

And here are the "official" results from Yankee's weekend:
Although not a championship race, Yankee did earn another blanket with this win; he's now the 2004 Internationale Frühlingsmeister! As always, Dunja has some great photos on her site:
Yankee's Racing Page
Rogie's grandmother, Alice, also raced for the first time as a Senior in Hildesheim and won her class! Congratulations to Birgit und Steffen!
In other news, Derbs continues to recover from her surgery. Apparently, Derby inherited her dad's adrenal glands. In her last race meet (yes, the one in which she ran so well and finished as BOS), Derby actually broke one of her toe joints, rather badly. It was beyond repair and so, unfortunately, she lost the toe. On the positive side of this whole experience, she might be able to race again and (much more importantly) will definitely be able to run around the garden and have fun without it causing her any pain.
In fact, I've heard she's already doing just that!

No email results on Yankee's racing this weekend but I did have a phone message when I got home this afternoon ... Yankee placed 2nd to Indiana Jones of Good Family (coincidentally, sired by Streaka's brother, James!) in the half-final. In the final, he placed first, setting not only the fast time of the day but also another track record!
Woo-hoo! Congratulations to Dunja and Yankee! Too late to phone now but I'll get all the news tomorrow morning...

I just removed the link to the Quicktime movie of Rogie, as I'm going to delete the file. Too much disk space!!!
Yankee's first race of the season in Belgium went well, with him putting in a fabulous time of 22.63 in the half-final. In the final, he came from behind for a spectacular photo finish, placing 2nd to Anco del Karfo. From the way Dunja described it, it was some pretty exciting racing.
This weekend, he'll be racing in Germany; I'll have to watch my email for the results!

Rogie's Exercise Regime ... just give Tighe the tennis ball!
(I just heard from someone that that link doesn't work too well. If you have trouble with it, save the file to your hard drive first and then watch it from there.)
